Our leadership team
Melinna Spillman (formally Giannini), CEO

In 1996, Marian Stone asked Melinna, “How do we get alternative medicine paid for by insurance?” The two founded Alternative Link in 1997, now doing business as ABC Coding Solutions, to answer this question.

For 20+ years, the solutions Melinna’s company designed have been vetted and promoted nationally. In 1999, ABC codes were published by the National Library of Medicine in its Unified Medical Language System. Since then, ABC coding solutions have been successfully used in over 2 million Medicaid claims (at a cost benefit of 50%), a New Mexico Medicare HMO, by an auto-accident medical claims adjudication company and by thousands of practitioners to supplement CPT/HCPCS codes in electronic claims. The ABC Coding Manual and The Legal Guide to Nursing were published by Delmar/Thompson Learning. ABC codes are recognized by the American Nurses Association (representing over 3 million nurses) and many other national and state groups. Melinna was invited to speak at the National Press Club about Revolutionizing Healthcare and has been a featured speaker at national conventions.

She continues to work on behalf of U.S. patients so that they have access to better quality care - at less cost – from over 2 M under-utilized health professionals.
